People with bad intentions feel threatened by your happiness. Instead of rejoicing, they downplay your achievements or change the subject. They might say things like:
"It's not so bad."
"I know people who have done much worse."
Tip: If they make you feel that your triumphs are insignificant, it's because they don't want to see you shine.
3. They criticize you constantly, disguising their criticism as "sincerity."
Constructive criticism is one thing, hurtful criticism is another. They tell you they're doing it "for your own good," but their comments only serve to put you down.
Tip: Repeated hurtful words are not sincere; they are passive-aggression.
